Fields of application of sandwich panels
Sandwich - TERM panels are intended for the construction of protective wall and roofing structures, for the construction of internal partitions of administrative, commercial and industrial buildings, as well as for decorative and protective cladding and insulation of external and internal walls of buildings. They are used for buildings erected according to the frame-panel scheme, when the supporting structures are made of metal (steel), reinforced concrete or wooden elements, as well as for modular frameless buildings. They are used in the construction of the following objects:
-Residential buildings and internal wall partitions, attic spaces.
-Administrative buildings, internal wall partitions in office premises.
-Thermal insulation of low-temperature premises: freezers, refrigerating chambers and complexes.
-Vehicle bodies, isothermal and refrigerated containers.
-premises with increased sanitary and hygienic requirements in the food industry.
-Cargo terminals and ports, trade pavilions and exhibition centers, supermarkets.
-car dealerships, gas stations, car washes, car repair shops.
-Temporary living quarters, sanitary and production modules, engineering and technical buildings.
-Thermal and gas-tight chambers for ripening and storage of fruits, berries and vegetables.
-Drying chambers.
According to their functional purpose, sandwich panels are divided into wall, roofing, cladding (for reconstruction and insulation of old buildings and premises) and refrigeration (for refrigerators and freezers). Sandwich panels are a great option when you need to quickly make a heat-insulated building or a cold room. Each type of panel has its own thermal conductivity, the lower it is, the better, because the insulation will maintain the required temperature in the room and will not allow its intensive passage.
One of the cheaper materials is expanded polystyrene - PPS, which has a thermal conductivity of 0.038 W/(m*K). There is a very serious disadvantage of this material, which is that it is vulnerable to rodents that leave voids in the middle of the insulation.
Among more expensive materials, we offer PPU polyurethane foam, which has a thermal conductivity of 0.023 W/(m*K). It needs to be almost twice as thick as polystyrene foam. This is an excellent option when the task is to insulate the room without reducing the volume. It is almost non-combustible.
MW mineral wool has a thermal conductivity of 0.048 W/(m*K), so it is not a very good heat insulator, but in terms of safety, it is not a combustible material used in residential premises, especially for roof insulation.
Polyisocyanurate PIR, which has a thermal conductivity of 0.02 W/(m*K), is considered the best invention for thermal insulation and conductivity. Not susceptible to fire, creating a protective film during burning.
